Such an amazingly fabulous day yesterday helping with project connect at the Kalamazoo Fairgrounds and Expo Center. There were over 40 free services provided to over 1,000 local area residents. Services ranging from hair cuts, mending, vision and hearing screening and many more. It was such a joy to see kids and families proudly come up to get their portrait taken. They were just in awe and many of them had never had a family photo before so it was so fun to see how happy they were to get a pic of them and their children. I am so excited that Help Portrait partnered with this project and I can’t wait to volunteer with more of them! My heart is so near and dear to the candid photos of the kids. Ah, I just love these kids! The most beautiful part about this for me is that it is local. These are the people in our community who are hurting and poor and needy and that’s where my heart is at! My globe is Judea and what a blessing to be a part of this! So much work went into organizing so thank you to everyone who did so much prep work for this event!
