It’s been a very busy and bustling Christmas season with photos. Over the years things have evolved for me. I’m so grateful and blessed to be able to put my energies where my heart is. I’m sure it’s pretty noticeable that I photograph a lot of my kids. Candid photos of our highlights all the time and it’s lovely. Our daughter started actual in person school 5 days a week full days this year and it has been a big adjustment for our family. Our son also started preschool. Everyone asks what you are going to do when your kids are in school and I have the answer: drive a lot. You drive around and have a lot of alarms so you know who to pick up and drop off when and where.
We feel a lot more settled in and have worked through a lot of bumps and growing along the way. A lot of fun things have happened and I’m catching up to the pace. Going from full lock down to a full calendar has been a shock to the system.
This year I’ve been able to make a lot of new friends and join the PTO at my daughter’s school. That has come with a ton of fun things in my skill set including some graphic design, making things look cute that go home with the kids, a new website, ecommerce, making fun mascott products and taking photos.
A couple special events this year were Santa Shop photos at the school and photos at Camp Kidwell. Doing things to bring joy to kids and make the magic of the holidays come to life is something that brings me SUCH GREAT JOY!! I’m thankful for my husband that these things can happen. He goes along with my ideas of volunteering, even though he worries I give too much of myself sometimes. He watches our kiddos when they can’t be along for some of these things. And…he supports our family so well since…volunteer work doesn’t really make any money. He’s so great!
I purchased another fantastic backdrop this year from Baby Dream Backdrops. They are seriously the best. This little gingerbread photo backdrop was just perfect for Santa shop photos this year and…perfect for my kiddos holiday photos. Some year maybe I will be ambitious and host mini sessions over the holidays, but for now I seem to love camp kidwell and just volunteering.
